Force install Windows 10 Anniversary Update – Build 1607

So far only one of our systems received the Windows 10 Anniversary update (build 1607). This had us a little antsy, thankfully Microsoft gives you the option to force install the update.

Here’s how:

• First make sure you don’t already have the update, click Start > Settings > System > About, make sure you aren’t already running build 1607. If you’re still on build 1511 then proceed.
• Click on this link and download the installer file for the update.
• Run the installer click Update Now twice and wait for the update to download.
• The update will restart the system a couple of times.

Note: Please backup all your data, there are some stories on the interwebs about the update crashing your OS. Be warned.
